Walking for Eileen 2026
A sponsored walk on Cannock Chase in memory of a much loved local lady, raising funds for Alzheimer’s support in our community.
About the Walk
Now in its 10th year, Walking for Eileen brings the community together on Cannock Chase for a walk that means a lot to a lot of people. The event starts and ends at Marquis Drive Visitors Centre, with a choice of two routes so everyone can take part at their own pace.
Before both walks set off, a qualified fitness instructor leads a warm-up session, so come prepared to stretch and get moving together as a group.
Supporting MASE
The walk raises funds for MASE (Monthly Alzheimer’s Support Evenings), a local charity that relies entirely on unpaid volunteers to run its support evenings for families affected by Alzheimer’s.
Want to fundraise for a different charity instead? That’s welcome too. Email walkingforeileen2026@outlook.com with your chosen charity and how many in your group, and you’ll receive a personalised sponsor form.
A Special Send-Off
This year’s walk gets an extra touch of ceremony, with Rugeley Town Crier Adrian Basford set to launch the walk in full livery, bugle and all.
This is a free community event, supported through sponsorship.
